Now it’s official that the second leg of IPL 2021 will be held in UAE. Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi will be the three stadiums to host the remaining 31 matches and playoffs of IPL 2021. As many expected this move prior as we still don’t have clarity of the impact the pandemic will have in India in the coming months and in September and October the bad weather conditions may interrupt play.
In a Special General Meeting held today, BCCI has decided to move IPL to Dubai, BCCI president Mr. Ganguly is also confident that they would get tax exemption for the T20 World Cup from the Indian Government.
The salary compensation for the domestic players due to the cancelation of multiple tournaments was not discussed in this meeting as it is not part of the agenda stated by Ganguly and Rajeev Shukla.
For cricket fans, this is good news as many got disappointed due to the suspension of IPL a month ago as few players were tested positive for COVID-19.
