Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday urged Infosys Ltd. and its co-founder Nandan Nilekani to ensure the new income tax e-filing portal does not let down taxpayers in service quality. Infosys has developed a new portal.
After seeing users raising complaints of facing issues with the new portal, The finance minister took it to Twitter saying “The much-awaited e-filing portal 2.0 was launched last night 20:45 hrs. I see in my TL (timeline) grievances and glitches. I Hope Infosys and Nandan Nilekani will not let down our taxpayers in the quality of service being provided. Ease in compliance for the taxpayer should be our priority,”
The popular IT Giant Infosys was offered a contract in the year 2019 for developing the next generation tax filing system that can reduce the processing time of returns from 63days to just 1 day and refund also can be processed quickly.
But after the launch of this e-filing portal on Monday many users were found dissatisfied complaining about login issues and others.
Infosys is yet to answer back on this whole issue.
Infosys also manages the IT infrastructure of GSTN (the company that handles GST returns). Even the GSTN portal had issues with their portal.
