Twitter acquires Scroll

Twitter brought Scroll and its ad-free news app, Scroll is a company which offers subscriptions. Twitter is looking to enhance its social media webpage to offer new type of content in various formats like audio, long-form content. This deal will help publishers to seek attention and make more revenue.

Scroll offers user to subscribe and read news related article from different publishers which includes Insider, BuzzFeed, The Atlantic, The Verge and USA Today without ads interruption, no doggy trackers and no chumboxes of clickbait.

“As a Twitter subscriber, picture getting access to premium features where you can easily read articles from your favorite news outlet, or a writer’s newsletter from Revue, with a portion of your subscription going to the publishers and writers creating the content,” Mike Park (Product Manager Twitter) said.

The financial terms for this deal are yet to be disclosed yet.
