Britain’s Heathrow Airport is going to use sustainable jet fuel for the first time as part of a test ahead of a Group of Seven (G7) rich nations summit in the country next week.
on Thursday the airport authorities and some involved companies said collectively gave information like :
- The fuel production is carried by Finland’s Neste and
- Supply is taken charge by oil trader Vitol.
This fuel is completely made of renewable and sustainable waste such as cooking oil and animal fat.
An important feature of this fuel is that when compared with regular aviation fuel this fuel cuts greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80%.
This fuel will be introduced into the airport’s main fuel supply soon. Already Delivery of the green fuel has begun on Thursday.
